I'd be happy if I could just be warm again.

You know you know that the rate of marriage failures hits a little bit of peak at about 55-60, I can tell you that I fully understand why. I don't know if it's a bad adjustment to post menopause, an inability to adjust to getting older and not being able to trade on looks anymore, or folks just get plain old tired of each other, but it's not a good thing! The kids are gone so if you don't really love each other and nurture the marriage above EVERYTHING else that is going on it just doesn't work anymore. *sigh*

+1 times two.

So after al the problems with the car...no a/c, slave cylinder, wrong fluids, over filled reservoirs, broken parts we had parked the car for the last 2+ months...3 weeks ago I got around to ordering the new dipstick cap for the powersteering unit. Wednesday I go into the garage and put it on and wipe up the mess from the fluid that got out...as I wipe underneath I hit something and it spins...hmmm....I get to looking and it's the pulley for the power steering and I look a little more and the pulley for the a/c sits there with rust in the grooves...the damn mechanic left the belt off so no wonder these things aren't working right.

I go to discuss these events and revelations with me and he is in complete denial and wants to argue...so, it didn't go well...I'll be drafting a letter to the BBB, the Chamber of Commerce, and he will get a very bad comment on Angie's List.

His parting remark: You are not welcome here, you are trespassing, get off the property and don't come back.

*sigh* I hate when a vendor argues with a customer...

Ok, here goes...yesterday the son and I got around to working on the Verity. All my tools are over in NW GA so I was a slave to when he could come over with his tools. Anyway, it took a tad over an hour to get the missing belt on...it's a pita to have to work around all the piping for the turbo and the intercooler but we managed, I would give it a 2 beer job rating on a scale of 1-5...and it's definelty not a one person job.

We get the belt on put everyhting back together and wonder of wonders, not only does the power steering work but so does the a/c. :cheerleader:

Since UP was out and about the boy called his mother and asked her if she was home yet...
no, aren't you there?
Well, no...we're over at Wake Med and Bob is in the ER being stitiched up...
Oh?
Yeah, while we were working on the Miata it took two of us work on a pivot bolt and the wrench slipped and I fell into Bob and pushed him into some piping and it put a deep gash in his arm and now they are checking him out to see if there is any nerve damage...I don't think they'll keep him but he is in pain and there is blood all over the garage and the engine compartment, hope it doesn't hurt the paint job on the car...he might have to have surgery (keep in mind that he is an RN and used to be a trauma Nurse)...
OK...what a way to ruin a day, I'll be right there...

OK, on the way pick up some beer 'cause we are almost out and the football games we are watching on the TV are just getting good now...

The 2 of you will pay for this!

Anyway, the car now drives fine and has had ann inside and outside bath...now why for and how come the airbag light is flickering under hard acceleration?

Next up, <2000 miles until the 180,000 mile service...
